Broadview proposal
Broadview Energy are proposing to build a wind farm comprising of five
turbines in the open countryside between the villages of Helmdon,
Stuchbury & Greatworth in Northamptonshire.
The height of these turbines (from ground level to the tip of the rotor in
an upright position) would be approximately 125 metres or 410 feet. This
is roughly the same height as the Northampton Lift tower and as high as
the London Eye or a 40 storey building.
Greatworth will be around 800m from the turbines, Helmdon will be
approximately 1km and Sulgrave around 2km. However there will be
some more isolated properties between villages that lie even closer,
Stuchbury Manor Farm for example is only 600m away.
They would completely dominate the three villages of Helmdon,
Greatworth and Stuchbury. In fact Broadview have confirmed that they
will be clearly visible from locations as far away as Buckingham and
Banbury (and further afield).
The proposed locations of the five turbines are shown on the map below.
Please note following Broadviews public meeting in Helmdon on July
13th location of the turbines has changed to move them closer to the
village of Greatworth
