Landscape Impact

What can you do !
In a grand open or industrial landscape, five 125m industrial
turbines may blend in a little more but in the rural gentle rolling hills
of South Northamptonshire, a much more intimate, closed and
unspoilt landscape, the visual impact will be unacceptably severe.
The two blimps flown on the 11th April and 13th July west of Grange
Farm, Helmdon and the blimp flown next to the nearest turbine at
Greatworth on 27th July demonstrated the scale of impact for locals.
The blimps were visually dominant and intrusive at a 2km radius and
highly visible within a radius of 5km.
As part of the environmental impact statement, Broadview must
complete a "zone of theoretical visibility" (ZTV) map - this shows
that the turbines will be seen up to 34km away!
Treasured Community Views.
They will dominate our countryside, detracting from the idyllic rural
and totally unspoilt landscape that currently exists. Just consider
the impact on the views out of the conservation areas within
Greatworth and Sulgrave and treasured community views such as the
Helmdon viaduct. HSGWAG believe that imposing such large
industrial machines in these sensitive landscape settings is
inappropriate and the impact unjustifiably severe.
