Flooding
It is well known that flooding, although not a regular feature in
Helmdon, has devasting effects when it does occur such as happened in
July 2007. Helmdon is surrounded by underground waterways, with wells
a regular feature in the back gardens of many of the older houses in the
village.
Whilst it is currently unknown what the impact of building a wind farm
encompassing significant excavation and several hundred tons of
concrete will be, we will be taking expert advice to understand the
potential increased risk of flooding that such a development might bring.
