Flying the Blimp

On the 11th April the HSGWAG committee organised for a Blimp to be flown at the height of 125 metres which is the same height as the top of the blade of one of the proposed Broadview wind turbines.

The event was publicised to local residents so everyone could get an understanding of the industrial scale and the potential visual impact of the proposed wind turbines.

The Blimp was positioned at Grange farm which is approximately 400m from the site of one of the proposed turbines but amply demonstrated from vantage points ranging from 500m to over 20km away the high level of visibility and dominant nature of the potential turbines.

Local press covered the event and there was a great deal of public reaction amongst local people once they realised just quite how visible the blimp was from a number of vantage points.

Just imagine this Blimp being replaced by five industrial wind turbines.
